Head Instructor and founder of Smash Flow JJ Nicholas Wolz started his jiu jitsu journey in 2008, continues to live with a passion for jiu jitsu and loves to share its benefits with students. In 2018 he earned his black belt from world renowned competitor/coach Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu. Under Cyborg he learned world class techniques and developed an unbeatable mindset. Training with and competing against some of the best bjj athletes in the world Nicholas Wolz leads from the front.

 Nicholas has an impressive competitive record spanning almost two decades with over 116 podium finishes across top level tournaments. His first tournament win in 2009 most recent in 2025.  His victories include, over 46 Gold Medals, including the IBJJF Pans No-Gi (Black Belt Masters) in 2019. Multiple podium finishes at the IBJJF World Championships and Pans. His competitive career showcases his expertise in both gi and no-gi competitions, as well as his commitment to continuous growth within the sport.
